This position is for a PRN Personal Care Assistant located in Leon County, Florida, and surrounding counties. The role is part-time, with opportunities for full-time positions available. A Guiding Hand LLC is a leading provider of support services for individuals with disabilities. We believe in fostering independence and promoting a higher quality of life for our clients. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate and personalized care to individuals with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication reminders. You will create a safe and supportive environment for clients and foster meaningful relationships with them and their families. Maintaining accurate records of client interactions and progress is essential, as is adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols and the policies provided by APD and A Guiding Hand LLC. To qualify for this position, you must have an active Level 2 background check, a High School Diploma or GED, and CPR certification. Additionally, you should have at least 2 years of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities. Required trainings/certificates include HIPAA, Zero Tolerance, HIV/AIDS/Bloodborne pathogens, Basic First Aid, Health and Safety Direct Core Competency, and other trainings as required. A CNA license is preferred. You must also have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current vehicle registration, and full coverage vehicle insurance. Being a US citizen, patient, empathetic, and able to communicate effectively is crucial, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is also necessary.
