About the position

The PRN Registered Nurse at Surgery Center of Meridian Park is responsible for assisting in the organization and daily operations of the surgery center, ensuring compliance with established standards and policies. This role involves caring for patients before and after surgical procedures, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with anesthesiologists and surgeons. The position is per diem, offering flexibility without the requirement to work holidays, evenings, or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the organization and daily function of the surgery center according to established standards.
• Care for patients preparing for surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient's vital signs and evaluate recovery from anesthesia.
• Assist anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians as needed.
• Collect clinical data related to patient care.
• Set priorities and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care to achieve identified outcomes.
• Coordinate nursing interventions to enhance patient outcomes and readiness for discharge.
• Provide emergency care according to physician and administrative policy.
• Administer and chart medications as ordered by the physician.
• Verify surgical/procedure site with the patient and according to the surgical schedule.
• Complete nursing documentation and maintain patient safety standards.

Requirements

• Current State RN license.
• BLS Certification.
• Mid-level ACLS Certification.
• Two years of experience in PreOp preferred.
