Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation team. This position is critical in providing direct patient care to individuals recovering from various conditions, ensuring that they receive the highest quality of care in accordance with established nursing practices and standards. The hospital is Joint Commission accredited and serves the patients of south-central Tennessee, with locations in Winchester and Sewanee. Winchester is a charming small town that offers a blend of outdoor recreation and access to larger cities like Chattanooga, Nashville, and Huntsville. The community is known for its strong economy, excellent schools, and recreational opportunities, including Tims Ford Lake and the renowned Bear Trace golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. As a Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Rehabilitation team, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive assessments and developing individualized care plans for patients. You will administer medications, collect specimens, and provide clinical treatments while documenting all patient care activities accurately. Monitoring and communicating patient conditions to the care team, physicians, and families is essential, as is assisting patients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care, including transfers, discharges, and addressing spiritual and psychosocial needs. Patient education is a vital component of this role, as you will evaluate the learning needs of patients and their families and provide tailored education based on their age, culture, and specific circumstances. Advocacy for the physical and emotional well-being of patients is paramount, and you will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned, which may include tasks typically performed by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Medical Assistants (MA), or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Participation in staff meetings, in-service training, and various committees is encouraged to foster professional development and adherence to hospital policies and procedures. The role requires flexibility, as you will work scheduled shifts, including potential overtime and on-call duties. Maintaining a professional appearance in compliance with the dress code is also expected.
