About the position

Menorah Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our PRN Oncology Outpatient Clinic located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. This role is an exciting opportunity for nurses who are passionate about providing high-quality care to oncology patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The RN will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver therapeutic and administrative services necessary for patient care, ensuring that we meet the needs of our complex oncology patient population. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend shifts, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. In this role, the RN will be responsible for triaging patients, collaborating with physicians, and providing care to adult and geriatric patients. The position requires building strong relationships with patients and their families, as many of our patients are recurring visitors. Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Provide therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient.
  • Care for adult patients between 18 to 64 years and geriatric patients 65 years and older.
  • Triage patients and work closely with physicians in a fast-paced outpatient oncology clinic.
  • Build relationships with recurring patients and their families in a supportive environment.
  • Learn and perform infusion therapy once established and trained.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.
  • Current license from the Kansas Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification required; Chemo Biotherapy certification preferred.
  • 3 years of Oncology experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • ONS Chemo/Biotherapy Fundamentals Provider or ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
