About the position

We are currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Recovery team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering compassionate care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. As a PACU nurse, you will be the first point of contact for patients post-surgery, requiring high-level critical thinking skills, extensive clinical knowledge, and excellent communication abilities. The PACU environment is characterized by teamwork and support, where our nurses work closely with experienced Charge RNs and physicians to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care to post-anesthesia patients in the PACU.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery progress after surgery.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor's Degree, Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a PACU or critical care setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
