Menorah Medical Center is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Specialty Unit (SSU), a 20-bed unit that provides care for medical surgical and telemetry monitored patients, primarily focusing on bariatric and colorectal surgical diagnoses. As a PRN RN in the Surgical Specialty Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Surgical Specialty Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment, ensuring accurate and timely communication with the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a surgical or telemetry unit is a plus.
  • Certification in specialty areas such as ACLS or PALS is advantageous.
