About the position

As a PRN Supply Chain Representative at The University of Kansas Health System, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient distribution of products, supplies, and equipment across various departments and locations. This position requires you to provide round-the-clock support, responding to urgent requests and service needs in real-time. You will be responsible for receiving products as directed and completing deliveries to predetermined locations, which may include various hospitals and departments within the health system. Adhering to scheduled delivery windows is essential, and you will need to adjust your plans based on feedback from your leadership team. In addition to delivery responsibilities, you will collect, disseminate, and follow up on all supply chain information requests that arise during your shift. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of this role, as you will be expected to offer solutions to client requests whenever possible. You will also be responsible for unloading and sorting inbound shipments, resolving select receiving issues, or escalating them to leadership for resolution. Working closely with requesters, you will determine product requirements based on customer needs, stage products for delivery, and deploy response carts as necessary. You may also create orders by requisition in the enterprise resource system and operate delivery vehicles in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This position requires a strong commitment to adhering to departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance, and technical functions. You will interact professionally within the department and throughout the health system to fulfill urgent material needs for end users. Your role will also involve preparing products and equipment for delivery, unloading inbound shipments, and ensuring that all items are accurately received and reconciled in the inventory management system. You will serve as the point of contact for customer inquiries, providing effective coaching and feedback to team members you are responsible for training. Additionally, you will be accountable for mitigating problems between distribution and logistics and our internal and external customers, ensuring that all requisitions and acquisitions of products and supplies are based on customer needs and established inventory management protocols. Continuous improvement in service levels and customer relationships is a vital part of this role, and you will be expected to apply LEAN principles according to the health system's methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide round-the-clock support for the distribution of products, supplies, and equipment.
  • Respond to real-time, urgent or STAT requests, questions, or service needs.
  • Receive products delivered as directed and complete deliveries to predetermined locations.
  • Adhere to scheduled delivery windows and adjust as needed based on feedback from leadership.
  • Collect, disseminate, and follow up on all supply chain information requests during your shift.
  • Provide solutions to client requests by delivering superb customer service.
  • Unload and sort inbound shipments; resolve select receiving issues or escalate to leadership.
  • Work with requesters to determine product requirements based on customer needs.
  • Stage products for delivery and deploy response carts as needed.
  • Create orders by requisition in the enterprise resource system.
  • Operate delivery vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Prepare product and equipment for delivery by identifying destination, packing, loading, and securing product.
  • Respond to customer supply chain inquiries and ensure follow-up is received by the customer.
  • Serve as the point of contact for customer issue/inquiry resolution.
  • Provide effective coaching and feedback to team members you are responsible for training.
  • Accountable for requisition and acquisition of products and supplies based on customer need.
  • Apply and adhere to LEAN principles according to health system methodology.
  • Respond to emergency response calls according to policy.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 1 or more years of experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a supply chain environment.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a healthcare background.
  • 2 or more years of experience in process improvement or inventory control.
  • Required Licensure: CDL within 6 months of hire date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's Degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a healthcare background.
