About the position

As a PRN Supply Chain Representative at the Switzer Distribution Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient distribution of products, supplies, and equipment within the healthcare system. Your primary responsibility will be to provide round-the-clock support by responding to urgent requests, questions, and service needs in real-time. This position requires you to manage deliveries between various departments and locations, adhering to scheduled delivery windows while being flexible to adjust based on feedback from leadership. You will also be responsible for collecting, disseminating, and following up on all supply chain information requests that arise during your shift, ensuring that you provide excellent customer service and solutions to client requests whenever possible. In addition to managing deliveries, you will unload and sort inbound shipments, resolving any receiving issues or escalating them to leadership as necessary. You will work closely with requesters to determine product requirements based on customer needs, stage products for delivery, and deploy response carts as needed. This role also involves creating orders through requisition in the enterprise resource system and operating delivery vehicles in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Maintaining required licenses and medical clearances is essential for this position. Your role will require you to interact professionally within the department and throughout the health system, aiding in fulfilling urgent material needs for end users. You will prepare products and equipment for delivery, unload inbound shipments, and validate shipping quantities at the item level. Additionally, you will electronically receive, issue, and reconcile items into the inventory management system according to departmental protocols. You will serve as the point of contact for customer inquiries, providing effective coaching and feedback to team members you are responsible for training. Your accountability will extend to mitigating problems between distribution and logistics, requisitioning products based on customer needs, and applying LEAN principles to improve service levels continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and deliver products to predetermined locations, adhering to scheduled delivery windows.
  • Collect, disseminate, and follow up on supply chain information requests during shifts.

  • Work with requesters to determine product requirements based on customer needs.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 1 or more years of experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • CDL within 6 months of hire date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates Degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a supply chain environment.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a healthcare background.
  • 2 or more years of experience in process improvement or inventory control.
