About the position
The PRN Surgical Services Circulating RN is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care across various age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, within the surgical environment. This role involves continuous communication with the surgical team, ensuring the readiness of surgical equipment, and participating in performance improvement activities. The RN will monitor and assist patients during procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort while adhering to established protocols and standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations.
- Communicates continuously with the surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient condition.
- Assists with maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness.
- Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all needs of the surgical team are met.
- Monitors, positions, and assists patients during procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Current Kentucky Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS certification.
