About the position

The Pro Tem Instructional Faculty position within the Division of Global Engagement (DGE) at the University of Oregon is a temporary, part-time role focused on designing and delivering educational opportunities that align with the university's global engagement mission. The faculty will primarily work from the Eugene campus, with potential collaboration on global initiatives. Responsibilities include teaching for-credit and non-credit courses aimed at enhancing students' international experiences and supporting the academic goals of the international student community.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead for-credit and non-credit educational opportunities.
  • Teach courses that support UO students in global engagement experiences.
  • Provide professional development seminars for students and faculty from partner institutions.
  • Develop online or remote instructional modules for diverse learner populations.
  • Support UO's Global Engagement Mission through various instructional opportunities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience in teaching or instructional design for higher education or in international education.
  • Significant international experience through study, employment, or residence abroad.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of experience teaching or designing curriculum in an international or cross-cultural environment.
  • PhD or other terminal degree.
  • Experience with program management in an international context.
