About the position

Our client is a well-established law firm with decades of experience serving Manatee County and beyond. They offer full-scale legal representation in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and guardianships, as well as personal injury and construction litigation. Known for their integrity, skill, and personalized service, they are committed to achieving the best outcomes for their clients. As a Probate Paralegal / Legal Assistant, you will provide essential legal and administrative support in probate, trust administration, and estate planning matters. Your role will involve drafting and preparing legal documents, including pleadings, client correspondence, and estate planning forms. You will communicate extensively with clients, executors, trustees, beneficiaries, and court personnel, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged throughout the process. In addition, you will manage and track multiple cases to ensure that all deadlines are met, prepare asset transfer documents such as account documentation, assignments, and beneficiary forms, and assist with billing, accounts payable, and receivable. You will also maintain and manage the firm's online e-filing system and case calendars, ensuring that all documentation is organized and accessible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and administrative support in probate, trust administration, and estate planning matters
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, client correspondence, and estate planning forms

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a law firm, with a focus on probate, trust administration, and estate planning
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience in probate/trust administration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document software (experience with HotDocs is a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills for client and attorney interaction
