About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, supplemented by 24 credit hours in behavioral or social sciences.
• One year of permanent service in the title of Investigator or Investigator Bilingual, or currently holding the title of Probation Officer or Probation Officer Bilingual.
• Valid Driver's License in New Jersey if vehicle operation is necessary for the job.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in case management or court operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities and operations of a courtroom.
• Collaborate closely with the court's team leader, court clerk, judge, and chambers staff.
• Manage case flow and backlog reduction.
• Conduct interviews with defendants and victims to prepare pre-sentence and pre-trial investigation reports.
• Investigate defendants by checking criminal history records and contacting relevant agencies for restitution information.
• Contact drug treatment facilities regarding probationers' progress and child support agencies regarding custodial issues.
• Research and resolve concerns in collaboration with management.
