About the position
The Coconino County Adult Probation Department is seeking a Probation Supervisor to oversee probation officers and ensure effective management of probation cases. The role requires a strong background in behavioral sciences and experience in a supervisory capacity within a correctional or treatment setting. The ideal candidate will contribute to a collaborative work environment that values diversity and community impact.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage probation officers and their caseloads.
- Ensure compliance with judicial and departmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and support to staff.
- Collaborate with community resources and agencies to enhance probation services.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of probation programs and interventions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in behavioral sciences.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience as a probation officer, including one year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Successful completion of a criminal history check relevant to employment.
- Possession of an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintenance throughout employment.
- Completion of 40-hour Defensive Tactics Academy and annual review.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification as a firearms instructor.
