About the position

The Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) Case Manager plays a crucial role in facilitating and monitoring participants' involvement in the drug court and Veterans Treatment Court programs in Dorchester County District Court. This position focuses on connecting participants with essential resources such as housing, education, and health services, while also tracking their progress and compliance with program requirements. The Case Manager collaborates with community organizations and assists in program reporting, ensuring that participants receive the necessary support to succeed in their rehabilitation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and monitor program participants' access to ancillary services.
  • Research and engage community agencies to ensure adequate resources are available for participants.
  • Participate in weekly or bi-weekly Problem-Solving Court team meetings.
  • Prepare and print court reports for hearings and document activities for the Problem-Solving Court file.
  • Submit accurate and timely documentation of all Case Management Activities in the Automon/AIMS electronic data system.
  • Evaluate participant services and update case plans as needed.
  • Perform drug testing collection procedures and ensure quality sample collection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in case management, mental health, homelessness, addictions, human/family services, health services, public safety, law enforcement, or court management.
  • Knowledge of clinical and criminal justice case management.
  • Skills in active listening, empathy, problem solving, and communication.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service and handling problems tactfully.
  • Ability to create and maintain critical relationships with organizations.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health services.
