About the position

The Critical Illness Recovery Hospital Procedures Nurse (RN) position at Select Specialty/Regency Hospitals involves providing care for chronically and critically ill patients who require extended hospital care. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality patient care, adhering to procedural standards, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The nurse will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring patient needs are met while managing various nursing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to the nursing care plan as a Champion of the Select Medical Way.
• Adhere to all operative and invasive procedure policies and standards.
• Follow documentation procedures and review physician documentation for compliance.
• Perform non-procedural duties such as central line care, PICC insertions, and wound care.
• Participate in QAPI and Infection Control Committees.
• Manage decontamination, processing, sterilization, and storage of supplies and instruments.
• Handle scheduling and supervision of invasive procedures.
• Monitor medication and controlled substances.
• Manage emergency equipment in procedure rooms and inventory of supplies needed for procedures.
• Maintain departmental logs and records, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative records.

Requirements

• Valid temporary or permanent State Registered Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• ACLS certification required or completed prior to end of orientation period.

Nice-to-haves

• PICC qualified preferred.
• Operative or procedure room experience preferred.
• Knowledge of monitors, sedation procedures, and wound care preferred.
• Competent with rhythm strip analysis and interpretation preferred.
