About the position

The Process Applications Engineer position at KLA is a critical role within the applications team, which serves as the customer-facing organization for process-based needs in the semiconductor industry. This role is primarily focused on understanding, delivering, demonstrating, and fully implementing process solutions that not only meet but aim to exceed customer requirements. The position is based remotely, with a primary focus on the Northeast United States, and involves significant interaction with customers to ensure their specific process needs are met. The responsibilities of this role include the installation of customer-specific processes on systems and testing compliance with agreed process specifications, often referred to as 'process transfer'. The engineer will also be tasked with improving procedures and specifications related to the delivery of quality equipment to customers, which includes enhancing existing processes to exceed customer expectations. On-site attendance for process installation acceptance, process development, and process update meetings is required, along with providing remote support to customers as needed. Collaboration is key in this role, as the engineer will work closely with internal SPTS groups to ensure proper process transfer and issue reporting. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with the sales team to explore new applications or potential future tool sales. Presentations for all on-site projects, including executive reviews and detailed summaries, will be part of the job, where proactive problem-solving is encouraged. The role also involves in-depth data analysis, often dealing with complex data sets with multiple variables, and developing familiarity with necessary process modules and endpoint capabilities.
