About the position

As a Process/Chemical Engineer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will function as a technical specialist, developing process solutions, performing treatment evaluations, and designing enhancements for facilities. This role involves applying fundamental process engineering techniques and concepts to address complex water quality treatment challenges. You will provide technical assistance on projects related to Gas, Fuels, and Chemicals, working under some direction to ensure effective solutions are developed and implemented. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an employee-owned engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company, where you will be empowered to grow and explore new possibilities in your field. Responsibilities

  • Develop process solutions for water quality treatment problems.
  • Perform treatment evaluations and design enhancements for facilities.
  • Provide technical assistance on Gas, Fuels, and Chemicals projects.
  • Apply fundamental process engineering techniques and concepts to solve complex challenges.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering program.
  • No prior experience required, but a strong interest in process engineering is essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biological Systems Engineering.
  • Experience or knowledge in Drinking Water, Wastewater, Industrial, or Gas, Fuels and Chemicals preferred.
  • Strong background in environmental water, chemical, or biological processes and engineering systems.
  • Knowledge of water or wastewater treatment process engineering principles or process modeling software.
  • Technical skills in leadership, collaboration, communication, and teamwork.
