About the position

The Process/Chemical Engineer will assist in troubleshooting issues at operating plants and develop timely and cost-effective solutions. This role involves managing projects to completion, including tracking project time and providing design packages with equipment specifications and P&ID updates to reflect changes. The engineer will also conduct research to improve ethanol manufacturing processes and design systems for controlling the movement and storage of materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting issues at operating plants.
• Develop solutions that are timely and cost-effective.
• Provide design packages with equipment specifications and P&ID updates.
• Manage projects to completion, including tracking project time.
• Conduct research to develop new and improved ethanol manufacturing processes.
• Develop material and energy balances for new and developing processes.
• Design and plan layout for equipment to carry out ethanol processes on an industrial scale.
• Analyze operating procedures and equipment to reduce processing time and cost.
• Design processes to control movement and storage of solids, liquids, and gases.
• Design measurement and control systems for ethanol plants based on data collected from experiments and operations.
• Determine effective arrangement of unit operations considering various factors.
• Lead activities of workers operating equipment to affect required chemical or physical changes.
• Perform tests and take measurements throughout production stages to control variables.
• Apply principles of chemical engineering to solve environmental problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering is a must.
