About the position

A Process Control Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. This role is crucial in improving production efficiency and ensuring that quality standards are met. The engineer will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, planning work assignments, and utilizing CAD proficiency to enhance operational workflows. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success in this position, as the engineer will need to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to achieve production goals. The Process Control Engineer will study time, motion, methods, and speed in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency. This involves interpreting engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and conferring with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. The engineer will also read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify adherence to quality assurance specifications, ensuring that all processes align with the company's high standards. In addition to these responsibilities, the engineer will aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays. They will prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization. Communication with suppliers, supply chain, and purchasing personnel will also be a key aspect of the role, as well as evaluating data submitted by others and obtained through investigation. The engineer will provide shipping priority direction to suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Previous experience with Microsoft applications (Teams, Outlook, Power BI, SharePoint, etc.).
