About the position

The Process Control Engineer is responsible for managing control system equipment and software that regulates industrial processes. This role involves collaborating with various departments to implement and enhance control strategies for both new and existing process equipment, ensuring optimal operation within specified limits.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement process control strategies including regulatory control, control sequence, logic, and advanced control for both continuous and batch processes.
• Develop, modify, and enhance HMI.
• Monitor control system performance, including loop analysis and tuning.
• Implement new control system technology.
• Support process problem solving by identifying sources of process upsets and other anomalies.
• Develop and maintain alarm systems.
• Support capital projects, including project justification and management of capital projects or sub-projects related to process controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 - 8 years of process control experience required.
• Firm foundation in industrial process knowledge.
• Experience with instrumentation and electrical systems associated with process control systems.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Highly competent in data analysis and use of process data historians such as OSI PI or Capstone ParcView.
• Understanding of P&ID drawings, loop sheets, and motor elementaries, with the ability to create and maintain these drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent drawing tools.
• Good working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), particularly Honeywell Experion or TDC; experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley ControlLogix) is a plus.
• BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Pulp/Paper Science).
