About the position

The Process Control Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, maintenance, and modification of process control and safety systems used in chemical and specialty material production processes. This role involves supporting 24/7 operations, troubleshooting systems, and managing projects related to instrumentation and automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support for 24/7 operations regarding safety and process control systems, process instrumentation, DCS, and PLCs.
• Utilize technical knowledge and data analysis skills to troubleshoot process control systems.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities on control and electrical systems.
• Support production and maintenance departments in continuous improvement, yield improvement, and efficiency improvements.
• Manage installation and startup of instrumentation and automation projects, including capital projects, ensuring they meet functional, budgetary, and timeline requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to provide instrumentation and automation support for broader mechanical and chemical projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing or chemical process environment.
• Experience with variable frequency drives, PLC programming, and HMI programming.
• Experience with process instrumentation in an industrial environment.
• Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs and electrical drawings.
