About the position

The Process Control Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise in designing, maintaining, and modifying process control and safety systems for chemical and specialty material production processes. This role involves supporting 24/7 operations, troubleshooting systems, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support to the site's 24/7 operations regarding safety and process control systems, process instrumentation, DCS, and PLCs.
• Utilize technical knowledge and data analysis skills to troubleshoot process control systems.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities on control and electrical systems.
• Support production and maintenance departments in continuous improvement, yield improvement, and efficiency improvements.
• Manage installation and startup of instrumentation and automation projects, including capital projects, ensuring they meet functional, budgetary, and timeline requirements.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to provide instrumentation and automation support for broader mechanical and chemical projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing or chemical process environment.
• Experience with variable frequency drives, PLC programming, and HMI programming.
• Experience with process instrumentation in an industrial environment.
• Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs and electrical drawings.
