About the position

The Process Controls Engineer position at Air Products involves supporting various industrial gas facilities across North and South America. This role focuses on DCS and PLC automation system design and support, ensuring safe and efficient operations of plants that produce and deliver gases such as Oxygen, Nitrogen, Helium, Carbon Dioxide, and Hydrogen. The engineer will work closely with operating facilities, providing 24/7 support and troubleshooting urgent operational needs, while also implementing improvement projects and optimizing existing assets.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the instrumentation and process control system needs of new and existing industrial gas facilities in North and South America.
• Troubleshooting urgent and immediate operational needs for remote facilities, including Process Instrumentation, DCS, and PLC control logic.
• Safely implementing improvement projects with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting maintenance outages for routine PM tasks, productivity modifications, or obsolete equipment upgrades.
• Supporting the improvement and optimization of existing assets, addressing instrumentation and process control system obsolescence issues, and meeting organizational goals for safety, operational costs, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in process automation systems and instrumentation engineering
• Hands-on knowledge of automation systems, control panels, and field instrumentation
• Valid Drivers' License and good driving record required.
