About the position

The Senior Process Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and implementing control systems for food processing, focusing on aseptic processing and automation. This position involves leadership responsibilities, including mentoring instrumentation technicians and collaborating closely with the Director of Engineering and plant staff to ensure safety and quality compliance in production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement control systems for aseptic lines, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
  • Optimize control systems for concentration and puree production, enhancing efficiency and consistency.
  • Program and maintain PLC systems to automate processes, reducing downtime and boosting efficiency.
  • Use Ignition's SCADA software for developing and monitoring control systems, enabling real-time data visualization.
  • Work with teams to integrate new control systems with existing infrastructure for seamless operation.
  • Create and refine processes and utility systems to meet company needs and project goals.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, process controls, or a similar degree (Food Processing preferred).
  • Alternatively, 15 years of experience in system integration, project management, PLC/HMI development programming, process engineering, control systems engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in thermal/fluid processing (Pharmaceutical, wastewater, and other industries are acceptable).
  • Knowledge of CIP and Pasteurization processes is required.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley) is required.
  • Food Processing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Ignition - HMI/SCADA software is a bonus.
  • Aseptic processing and packaging experience is highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or wastewater processing industries.
  • Familiarity with additional automation software.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $110,000 - $140,000 + 10% bonus.
