About the position
The Process Control Engineer at Georgia-Pacific's Wauna facility in Clatskanie, OR, is responsible for optimizing and troubleshooting process control systems, evaluating root causes of technical issues, and managing process improvement projects. This role requires effective communication across various organizational levels and involves working with advanced control systems and equipment integration.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating processes and equipment operation
- Developing and executing migration plans for legacy control system platforms, such as TDC3000 and IPC620
- Evaluating root cause and addressing technical issues with long-term solutions in mind
- Planning and managing process improvement projects
- Providing support for existing and new Process Control systems, including Honeywell Experion DCS and PLCs
- Communicating and working with various operational, environmental maintenance and engineering levels in a team environment.
Requirements
- Two (2) or more years of professional experience working with PLCs or servo drives, including troubleshooting, modifications, and additions
- Experience with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working within a Pulp and Paper operation
- Five (5) or more years of professional experience working with Honeywell, DCS or TDC 3000
- Experience working with various drive systems
- Experience working with various protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Hands-on programming experience and hardware management in industrial process control platforms and networks (e.g., Factory Talk)
