About the position

The Process Development Engineer will lead the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of injection molding processes for high-quality products in the heavy trucking, automotive, and manufacturing sectors. This role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, troubleshoot issues, and uphold industry standards, ultimately driving innovation and product quality while supporting the scale-up of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, optimization, and validation of injection molding processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process failures and non-conformities, ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Create, maintain, and update process documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Perform regular process evaluations and audits to identify opportunities for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and innovations in injection molding and apply relevant advancements to manufacturing processes.
  • Mentor and train production staff on best practices for process operation and maintenance.
  • Support the transition of pilot projects into full-scale production, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.
  • Contribute to IATF16949 initiatives to ensure adherence to quality management standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in injection molding or process development within manufacturing.
  • Expertise in injection molding processes, machinery optimization, and process troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, process optimization, and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality, and production.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience with process validation and improvement.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and lead teams in the implementation of best practices.
