About the position
The Process Development Scientist - Oligonucleotide Chemistry at Eurofins Genomics LLC is responsible for the manufacturing and development of oligonucleotides to meet the growing demand in molecular diagnostics. This role involves hands-on expertise in oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, and quality control, while also supporting research and development efforts. The position requires collaboration with major life sciences companies and adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with major life sciences companies to manufacture and develop oligonucleotides.
- Prepare chromatography and analytical techniques throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Purify, analyze, and characterize complex oligonucleotides and related analytical methods.
- Develop innovative analytical methods for reagents and assay performance.
- Design and execute advanced troubleshooting experiments in coordination with collaborators.
- Support documentation transfer of prototype methods from research to development and manufacturing.
- Serve as a subject matter expert across R&D departments and operations.
- Document all assays and results in a standardized and timely manner.
- Mentor and train junior employees.
- Adhere to cGMP/cGLP documentation procedures according to FDA specifications.
- Develop and implement purification processes that expand the portfolio.
Requirements
- BS + minimum 5 years/MS/PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Manufacturing experience and comfortability in a production role.
- Experience working with nucleic acids.
- Experience with oligonucleotide synthesis.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on expertise in HPLC method development for specific DNA/RNA modifications.
- Experience in developing new downstream workflows for automated larger scale purification processes.
