Process Engineer- Chemical

About the position

The position involves de-bottlenecking current manufacturing processes through the optimization of existing equipment, improved use of resources, or the acquisition of new technology and equipment. The role includes assisting in the development of flow sheet design, technical evaluation of equipment, conducting plant evaluations, and commissioning new manufacturing processes. The candidate will troubleshoot and solve existing manufacturing and quality problems to improve uptime and first-time prime quality. Additionally, the role requires conferring with vendors to determine product specifications, arranging for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluating products according to specifications and quality standards. The candidate will also work with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Statistical methods will be applied to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential, and the candidate will test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. The role also involves evaluating, analyzing, and making recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to enhance the competitive position of the company. The candidate will procure materials needed to construct prototypes and supervise the design engineering of new models, test the ability of machines to perform designated tasks, develop models of alternate processing methods, analyze test data, and recommend cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes. Computer-assisted engineering and design software will be used to perform engineering and design tasks.

Responsibilities

• De-bottleneck current manufacturing processes through optimization of existing equipment.
• Assist in the development of flow sheet design and technical evaluation of equipment.

Requirements

• Process engineering experience.
• Knowledge of six sigma methodologies.
• Experience in process improvement.
• Familiarity with test equipment.
• Background in chemical engineering.
• Experience with industrial minerals and specialty chemicals.

• Experience with Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS).

Benefits

• Pay range of $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year.
• 11% bonus potential.
• Relocation assistance with a lump sum payment (taxable) on the first paycheck, up to $15,000.
