The candidate will troubleshoot and solve existing manufacturing and quality problems to improve uptime and first-time prime quality. Additionally, the role requires conferring with vendors to determine product specifications, arranging for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluating products according to specifications and quality standards. The candidate will also work with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Statistical methods will be applied to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential, and the candidate will test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. The role also involves evaluating, analyzing, and making recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to enhance the competitive position of the company. The candidate will procure materials needed to construct prototypes and supervise the design engineering of new models, test the ability of machines to perform designated tasks, develop models of alternate processing methods, analyze test data, and recommend cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes. Computer-assisted engineering and design software will be used to perform engineering and design tasks.
