Process Engineer - Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation - Matauri Bay Plant

About the position

The Process Engineer - Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation at the Matauri Bay Plant is responsible for overseeing the electrical, electronic control, and monitoring functions of the industrial processing plant. This role also extends to the quarry infrastructure, ancillary offices, laboratory, and engineering workshops. The engineer will organize and deliver effective maintenance of the plant's electrical, electronic, and process control systems within budget parameters. Additionally, the position involves managing contractors and procuring goods and services both domestically and internationally. The engineer will work closely with the Operations Manager and Process Teams to maximize production efficiency, ensuring 100% availability of industrial processing plant operations while continuously improving Environment, Health & Safety, Operational Excellence, and Financial Management.

Responsibilities

• Process Engineering for production of 10,000 dry tonnes annually of high value finished products to be shipped to over 20 countries.
• Maintenance of industrial process plant infrastructure to allow extraction and processing of 40,000m3 of matrix annually with related process waste discharges of 20,000 - 30,000m3.
• Contribute to business revenue of $10m.
• Manage Electrical Materials and Contractor Budget for weekly Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Budget of $125,000.
• Oversee Capital Projects and investments under $500k.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience and proven competence in process engineering.
• Preferred experience within an industrial processing organisation.
• Hold New Zealand Electrical Registration.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement of engineering goods and services.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety legislation in the workplace.
• Good verbal, written communication and IT skills.
• Hold Industrial Instrumentation Certificate.
