About the position

As a Process Engineer II at Applied Materials, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of processes used in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, collecting data, analyzing, and compiling reports on moderately difficult process engineering experiments while adhering to safety guidelines. You will also perform hardware characterization on moderately complex systems and troubleshoot issues by conducting Root Cause Analysis to resolve engineering challenges. Your ability to measure film properties, organize data, and interpret results will be essential in generating internal documentation, presentations, and technical reports. Additionally, you will interact with customers to address process engineering issues and work with vendors and suppliers to implement new technologies and analytical instrumentation. In this role, you will demonstrate expanded conceptual knowledge in your discipline and broaden your capabilities. You will understand key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish your work effectively. While you will not have supervisory responsibilities, you will provide informal guidance to new team members, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment. Your problem-solving skills will be vital as you analyze straightforward situations and apply technical experience and judgment to find solutions. Your work will impact the quality of your own output and that of your team, ensuring adherence to guidelines and policies. You will also be responsible for explaining complex information in straightforward terms to facilitate understanding among team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on moderately difficult process engineering experiments, within safety guidelines
  • Perform hardware characterization on moderately difficult systems, within safety guidelines
  • Troubleshoot moderately complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues
  • Measure film properties, organize data/reports for review and interpret data
  • Generate internal documentation for products, presentations and technical reports
  • Interact with customers to resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues/problems under general supervision
  • Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers under general supervision
  • Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in process engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in straightforward situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to explain complex information clearly
