About the position

The Process Engineer II at Johns Manville Corp plays a crucial role in providing technical leadership for major manufacturing assets, ensuring optimal output and adherence to product specifications. This position focuses on process efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction through data collection, auditing, and preventive maintenance. The engineer will lead process optimization initiatives and collaborate with various teams to enhance safety and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous analysis identifying areas for improvement and corrective actions.
  • Develop standard control processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Define the process set points for all different product types and create associated management tools.
  • Support improvement of safety performance by encouraging safe behaviors and engaging in safety culture enhancement.
  • Create and maintain knowledge of the latest technologies for current and future processes.
  • Work closely with internal and external resources to resolve technical issues and share findings proactively.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities across multiple operations/functions.
  • Provide leadership for process redesign efforts during rebuilds or major investment projects.
  • Lead multiple projects and process optimizations in a manufacturing operation.
  • Provide on-site support during construction and startup to enhance in-plant resource capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial continuous process manufacturing as a process, manufacturing, or product engineer.
  • 2 years of troubleshooting experience on manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills including complex data analysis.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with DOE for process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to interface at all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with RCCA analysis and the JM Solve-It method.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
