About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a Process Engineer II to join our team at the Merrimack, New Hampshire facility. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, closely collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to adapt to a dynamic production setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the successful execution of production goals and achieve operational excellence. As a Process Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing manufacturing support, developing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the Advanced Composites Manufacturing factory. Your expertise will be crucial in utilizing hands-on problem-solving techniques, data analysis, and the application of engineering principles, including Six Sigma and lean manufacturing, to enhance assembly processes, optimize product flow, improve product yields, and reduce costs. You will be expected to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, communicating efficiently with all levels of the organization. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that we meet our production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing support and process development for the Advanced Composites Manufacturing factory.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using engineering principles, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
  • Utilize hands-on problem-solving techniques to address manufacturing challenges.
  • Analyze data to improve assembly processes and product flow.
  • Enhance product yields and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to adapt to changing production environments.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of engineering/manufacturing experience.
  • Prior experience in composite manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with PPV and FAI processes.
  • Prior experience in a DoD manufacturing environment.
  • Possession of a Secret Clearance.
