About the position

As a Process Engineer III at Jabil, you will be responsible for engineering automated solutions specifically tailored for manufacturing and packaging processes within the medical device industry. This role is crucial as it ensures that all solutions comply with user requirement specifications, and you will be accountable for the validation activities associated with these processes. You will lead automation projects, ensuring they operate with a high level of efficiency, integrity, and enthusiasm. Your expertise will be pivotal in driving the success of these projects, which are essential for maintaining Jabil's reputation as a trusted partner for top global brands. In this position, you will design automation equipment in your respective areas of expertise, which may include Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, or Software Application. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure that project timelines are met and that all work is completed within budget constraints. Your role will also require a deep understanding of automation equipment assembly and installation, machine building, and motion control. You will need to review, understand, and accurately interpret requirements and specifications to ensure they are effectively integrated into the design of the equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that designs are manufacturable, collaborating with the toolroom to build prototypes and final products that meet the high standards expected in the medical device industry. Your contributions will not only enhance the efficiency of manufacturing processes but also support Jabil's commitment to sustainability and community development.

Responsibilities

  • Design automation equipment in respective areas of expertise, e.g., Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, or Software Application.
  • Work closely with Project Manager/Engineer to meet project timeline and budget.
  • Provide expertise in automation equipment assembly and installation, machine building, and motion control.
  • Review, understand, and interpret requirements/specifications accurately for integration into design of equipment.
  • Ensure design for manufacturability, collaborating with toolroom to build prototypes and final products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, particularly in the medical device industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automation equipment assembly and installation.
  • Experience with machine building and motion control systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and requirements accurately.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
  • Project management experience.
