About the position

The Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Engineer position involves performing advanced materials characterization using TEM techniques to support semiconductor process activities. The role requires a strong background in materials science and engineering, with responsibilities including data analysis, troubleshooting complex engineering issues, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors to drive technology development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on process engineering experiments within safety guidelines.
  • Perform hardware characterization on various systems while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and conduct Root Cause Analysis to resolve engineering issues.
  • Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations, and technical reports.
  • Interact with customers to address challenging process engineering problems with limited supervision.
  • Measure film properties and interpret data accurately.
  • Identify, select, and collaborate with vendors and suppliers with minimal supervision.
  • Implement new technologies, products, and analytical instrumentation.

Requirements

  • PhD degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a semiconductor-related field.
  • Strong background and experience in materials characterization using TEM.
  • Programming skills in AI and Python.
  • Experience in creative problem solving and innovative solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge in semiconductor, crystallography, and diffraction.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
  • Knowledge of best practices in materials engineering and how the area integrates with others.
