About the position

The Process Engineer Internship at Ingevity offers students the opportunity to apply their engineering skills in a real-world manufacturing environment. Interns will work on projects that enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and productivity within the company’s operations. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in the chemical and materials manufacturing industry, with a focus on problem-solving and teamwork. The program lasts approximately 12-14 weeks during the summer, with potential placements in various locations across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Apply problem-solving and technical skills to improve manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with teams to tackle real-world engineering challenges.
• Support production and project engineering initiatives throughout the plant.
• Innovate and improve processes while ensuring safety and teamwork.
• Troubleshoot technical problems in manufacturing environments.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Engineering with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026.
• Completed at least one semester of engineering coursework related to their major before starting the internship.
• Maintain good academic standing throughout the internship.
• Ability to think critically and troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize projects independently.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous internship or work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree majors in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
