About the position

The Process Engineer will join the Global Security Incident Response Team (GSIRT) within the Corporate Information Security Division (CISD) at Sony Corporation of America. This role focuses on supporting the cyber defense team and shared service team in planning, executing, and tracking project and operational deliverables. The position requires collaboration across various cybersecurity delivery teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity stakeholder requests and to facilitate the development and improvement of workflows and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support cyber defense team planning, refinement, and execution tracking of project and operational deliverables.
  • Support shared service team planning, refinement, and execution tracking of project and operational deliverables.
  • Collaborate across multiple cybersecurity delivery teams to ensure a coordinated understanding of stakeholder requests.
  • Participate in the development and revision of workflows/processes, including documentation of standard operating procedures and training material.
  • Analyze trends in performance indicators to assist GSIRT leadership in managing performance and recommending corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with GSIRT leadership to assess the value of potential projects and efforts.
  • Facilitate effective meetings to gather information needed for support efforts.
  • Help maintain backlogs and analyze upcoming work for resource and schedule needs.
  • Escalate impediments/blockers and support their mitigation or removal.
  • Identify and mitigate any external dependency risks.
  • Ensure clear and consistent status reporting of objectives, deliverables, issues, and updates to various teams.
  • Support integrating the project into the larger program strategic roadmap.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of associated work experience as a process engineer or business analyst in a cybersecurity or IT organization.
  • PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Certified SAFe (Scrum Master or Advanced Scrum Master) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) Certifications or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills, with the ability to manage relationships up to senior management.
  • Strong documentation skills, including detailed tracking and metrics-based reporting.
  • Outstanding analytical, process development, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and removing impediments.
