About the position

The Process Engineer IV position at BCforward is a remote contract role focused on driving the operational development and execution of New Technology Introductions (NTI) for high-volume manufacturing of innovative AR displays and optics solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing processes, improve yields, and ensure factory readiness at contract manufacturers. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in optical component manufacturing and a strong background in high-volume consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational development and execution of New Technology Introductions (NTI) for high-volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to scope new manufacturing methods and conceptualize process flow strategies.
• Design and integrate factory processes and setup infrastructure solutions at manufacturing facilities.
• Support sourcing and engineering in vendor selection, setup, and qualification of manufacturing equipment.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance yields and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Ensure factory readiness at contract manufacturers for optics components and module process development.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, specifically in optical component/module assembly manufacturing.
• Strong technical hands-on experience with optical components and optical module assembly manufacturing.
• Experience with high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing and partnering with Asia-based suppliers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with contract manufacturers offshore.
• Expertise in technical or structured problem solving.
