About the position

As a Process Engineer in the WWD department at Bekaert, you will be responsible for managing the process ability and quality of products. This role requires close collaboration with Production Teams, Maintenance, Half Product, and Bunching teams, as well as maintaining contact with the Technical Department to ensure quality specifications are met. You will focus on improving quality standards through process improvements and measurement of customer process ability. Your work will contribute to Bekaert's commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the process ability (quality) of products running in the WWD area following rejects, fractures, and die consumption for each product.
  • Improve process-ability with focus on the customers in Bunching and Hose Wire.
  • Use statistical methods to run trials and see trends over time.
  • Apply knowledge of different computer programs to use statistical methods.
  • Competent in the application of FMEA and familiar with TS16949 guidelines and rules.
  • Work with Lubricant Technicians to improve the lube system.
  • Provide mechanical support in the plant in areas requiring metallurgical and technical knowledge.
  • Assist Production areas to determine best ways of working using Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Train and communicate with Production on changes or trials that affect their area.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in equipment and processes that might affect Bekaert.
  • Benchmark and provide support to other plants and WWD departments in all Bekaert.
  • Direct and/or conduct special projects and trials to ensure that appropriate data is available for customer orders, new products, or changes in methods, procedures, or equipment.
  • Meet all Safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required or assigned that are not unethical or unsafe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering field.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Good Organizational Skills.
