About the position

Jovian Concepts, Inc is seeking a Process Engineer Level 2 for an exciting opportunity in the Annapolis Junction area. This role requires a TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph, and unfortunately, no CCA's will be accepted at this time. As a Mission Management Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing process improvement (PI), engineering methodologies, and principles to enhance and align Enterprise-level processes effectively. Your responsibilities will include facilitating project teams to achieve their activities and objectives, as well as coordinating the transfer of new processes and practices to these teams through various means such as group facilitation, interviewing, training, and other forms of knowledge transfer. Additionally, you will act as a key coordinator among multiple project teams to ensure the integration of engineering efforts across the Enterprise. In this position, you will be tasked with developing plans for process assessments and working closely with project team members to assess organizational readiness. You will coordinate and schedule these assessments, lead assessment teams in both formal and informal evaluations, and analyze the results to make informed improvement recommendations. Your leadership will be essential in driving Process Improvement efforts utilizing CMM/CMI or similar process models, interpreting and promoting best practices in Process Improvement, and ensuring that processes are established and documented to support sound systems engineering discipline and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the plans for process assessments.
  • Work closely with project team members to determine organizational readiness for assessment.
  • Coordinate and schedule process assessments.
  • Lead assessment teams in conducting both formal and informal assessments.
  • Analyze assessment results and make improvement recommendations.
  • Lead Process Improvement efforts utilizing CMM/CMI or other similar process models.
  • Interpret and promote the use of Process Improvement best practices.
  • Ensure processes are established and documented to support the application and institutionalization of sound systems engineering discipline and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph is required.
  • Ten (10) years of experience with Process Improvement on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Five years of experience in facilitation, training, methodology development and evaluation, process engineering across all phases of acquisition identifying best practices, change management techniques, organizational development, activity and data modeling, or information system development methods and practices within the last ten years.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or Education from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A High School diploma and four years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Excel, Visio and Python based Lab Bench/Jupyter notebooks is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team setting to complete assigned tasks within an expected timeframe is essential.
