About the position

The Process Engineer Manager at Mueller Water Products is responsible for leading the development and implementation of lean business systems within the foundry. This role focuses on enhancing customer satisfaction, quality, and operational performance while supporting the growth of the company. The manager will work closely with foundry leadership to drive process improvements and ensure the effective execution of manufacturing and transactional processes.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the definition and development of the business strategy.
  • Lead the development of the process improvement plan in support of the Foundry's overall execution.
  • Ensure the Foundry is implementing appropriate lean tools to maximize productivity and throughput while minimizing lead time and WIP.
  • Ensure the Foundry is implementing appropriate lean tools to maximize productivity and minimize lead time in the front and back office areas.
  • Assist in identifying and supporting opportunities to enhance profitability and growth through improved new product development and introduction processes.
  • Ensure that a depth of high-quality process engineering talent exists throughout the facility.
  • Assist in selecting, developing, leading, and coaching the team to meet/exceed targeted goals.
  • Identify and implement best in class lean processes and infrastructure.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the execution of key special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment involving high-speed machining and foundry operations.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
  • Outstanding PC/Systems knowledge and skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers, and outside professionals.
  • Knowledge dealing with complex manufacturing situations, quality standards, product development, CAD/CAM, technical specifications, and project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with FMEA, DFMEA, DOE, FEA.
