About the position

The Process Engineer - Mechanical at Garver will play a crucial role in the Fayetteville Water Design Center, overseeing projects from conceptual planning to the preparation of bid-ready documents. This position involves collaboration with Senior Process Mechanical Engineers and encompasses a variety of design tasks related to water and wastewater facilities, ensuring high-quality project delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design of water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Support of water and wastewater process evaluation, selection, and implementation
  • Pump selection and pump station design
  • Chemical storage and feed system design
  • Blower sizing and blower system design
  • Mechanical equipment selection
  • Piping and instrumentation drawing production
  • Specification and Contract document preparation
  • Support of construction projects
  • Oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D models

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/biological engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 5 or more years of direct design experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with multi-discipline project teams
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/biological or related engineering discipline
  • Design experience of lift stations, booster pump stations, and water treatment processes
  • Experience working with and leading a multi-disciplinary team
  • Active participation in local professional organizations
