About the position

The Qorvo SAW R&D team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Photolithography Process Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices. This role is pivotal in advancing our semiconductor solutions, which are integral to various high-growth markets such as consumer electronics, automotive, and healthcare. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in microelectronics, particularly in photolithography processes, and will be responsible for the engineering ownership of these processes. In this position, you will be tasked with developing and optimizing photolithography processes tailored for SAW research and manufacturing. This includes creating lithography modules that encompass coating, baking, exposing, and developing, ensuring they meet diverse process requirements across multiple levels of device integration. You will operate advanced lithography tools, including ASML DUV steppers and i-line steppers, and collaborate closely with device integration engineers to address project needs and devise innovative solutions to technical challenges. Your role will also involve designing experiments to establish and refine lithography processes, driving these processes from development into high-volume manufacturing while managing risks and achieving project milestones. Additionally, you will implement process monitoring, controls, and metrics to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of high-volume manufacturing processes. Responsibilities

  • Develop photolithography processes for surface acoustic wave (SAW) research and manufacturing
  • Develop lithography modules (coat/bake/expose/develop) to meet a variety of process needs across multiple levels of device integration
  • Operate ASML DUV stepper, i-line stepper, and contact mask aligner tools
  • Collaborate with device integration engineers to meet project needs and implement innovative solutions to technical challenges
  • Solve technical problems individually and in a team environment
  • Design experiments to establish and optimize lithography processes
  • Drive processes modules from development into high volume manufacturing executing project goals and managing risk through key milestone
  • Implement process monitoring, controls and metrics for high volume manufacturing processes

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in semiconductor device research or process development
  • Direct industry or R&D experience as engineering owner of lithography processes
  • Detailed knowledge of photolithography techniques including coat/lamination, expose, develop, hard/soft bake
  • Direct experience with ASML stepper tool sets ideal (but not required)
  • Direct experience with TEL Act tool sets ideal (but not required)
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DoE)
  • Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills required
  • Demonstrated problem-solving methods and experience
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques such as JMP, Spotfire or similar software packages
  • Scripting/programming experience preferred; SQL queries, data analysis scripting
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and windows-based software
