About the position

The position involves leading process engineering efforts and providing technical advice for multiple projects within the oil and gas industry. The role requires collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to develop process designs, perform calculations, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. The engineer will also mentor less experienced team members and support project planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process engineering and provide technical advice for multiple projects.
  • Develop heat and material balances for new projects using process simulation tools.
  • Create process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations and prepare equipment data sheets.
  • Conduct detailed hydraulic calculations for pipe sizes, control valve sizing, and compressor and pump duties.
  • Perform facility overpressure protection calculations and PSV sizing.
  • Lead and participate in safety reviews, HAZOP/PHAs, and PSM activities.
  • Develop Design Basis for new projects.
  • Create Process Control Narrative documents and support Cause & Effect documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members, clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced designers and engineers.
  • Participate in proposal preparation for engineering services.
  • Support schedule planning for projects and coordinate staffing resources with the Process Engineering Manager.
  • Conduct feasibility/economic studies, conceptual designs, and optimization studies.
  • Support construction, commissioning, and start-up efforts, and draft operating procedures.

Requirements

  • BS and/or MS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 4+ years of oil and gas industry experience in midstream and/or upstream.
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of gas plants and gas processing preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong team-working skills.
  • Proficiency in HYSYS, Synergi, VMG Symmetry, and/or ProMax preferred.
  • Skills in pipeline hydraulic modeling including dynamic surge analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with gas processing and gas plants.
  • Previous experience in a lead engineering role.
