About the position

The Process Engineer Spring Co-op position at Chemours offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a chemical plant while working closely with experienced engineering professionals. This role is designed for students pursuing degrees in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world engineering projects. The co-op program consists of multiple work terms, providing a comprehensive learning experience in process engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Working with experienced engineering professionals on improvement and expansion projects
  • Assisting operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving
  • Communicating tests and other ongoing work with engineering mentors, operations, management, etc.
  • Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
  • Contributing to team meetings and conference calls

Requirements

  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a sophomore or junior at time of assignment
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice-to-haves

  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
  • Completion of initial Engineering coursework
