The Process Engineer Supervisor is responsible for overseeing process engineering activities within the refinery, ensuring operational support, process optimization, and reliability improvements. This role involves supervising a team of process engineers, coordinating with other refinery groups, managing project priorities, and overseeing external engineering services. The supervisor plays a critical role in mentoring staff, managing project development, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

  • Supervise process engineering activities related to refinery operations and utilities.
  • Oversee operations support, process optimization, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to process engineers and technicians.
  • Coordinate with other refinery groups to align project priorities and operational needs.
  • Manage the contracting of outside engineering services and oversee equipment specifications and bid selections.
  • Contribute to the refinery budgeting process and project development for optimization and debottlenecking.
  • Develop best practices for process design applications and modeling templates.
  • Support refinery turnarounds and ensure proper coverage for process callouts.
  • Communicate process information with sister refinery sites and provide process reporting to the plant.
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 6+ years of combined refinery process engineering and operations experience required.
  • 2+ years of direct supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in process engineering unit operations, troubleshooting, and design.
  • Knowledge of PSI, MOC, and PSSR processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, people management, and communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office suite required.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  • Experience with process simulation software.
  • Knowledge of refining process technology and best practices.
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and maintain confidentiality.
