About the position

The R D Process Engineer Technician role involves operating equipment to develop and test plastic containers and related tooling. The position focuses on ensuring high quality standards and contributing to a positive team culture within Plastipak's Package Development Center. This role is essential for maintaining equipment and performing quality checks to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate blow molding or injection molding machinery and related equipment.
• Perform quality checks for specifications, such as bottle weights and dimensions, to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Identify corrective actions to eliminate defects through the product development process.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned.
• Collaborate with the team to identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality, and scrap reduction.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
• Mechanical, electrical or other technical/machine operation experience.
• Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred.
• Ability to work 2nd shift schedule.
