About the position

Garver's Fayetteville Water Design Center is seeking a Process Engineer with Water Treatment Plant experience to lead projects from conceptual planning to bid-ready documents. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including facility and equipment layouts, design calculations, equipment vendor coordination, and management of support discipline activities. The Process Engineer will also coordinate with regional offices and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and quality throughout the design process. A significant aspect of this position involves performing quality reviews of designs produced by other teams, ensuring that all outputs meet the high standards expected by Garver and its clients. The Process Engineer will lead a wide array of design tasks related to water facilities, particularly focusing on drinking water treatment processes. This includes conducting process evaluations, selecting appropriate technologies, and implementing solutions. The detailed design responsibilities will cover conventional treatment processes such as coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation basins, as well as advanced filtration and disinfection systems. The role also involves pump selection and pump station design, chemical storage and feed system design, and the production of piping and instrumentation drawings. Additionally, the Process Engineer will prepare specifications and contract documents, support construction projects, and oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D models. Garver's Water Design Center is recognized for its expertise in highly technical, multi-discipline water and wastewater designs, specializing in large, high-volume, custom plant projects that incorporate advanced technologies. Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from conceptual planning to bid-ready documents.
  • Conduct facility and equipment layouts and design calculations.

  • Implement membrane systems and advanced disinfection systems.
  • Select pumps and design pump stations.
  • Design chemical storage and feed systems.
  • Produce piping and instrumentation drawings.
  • Prepare specifications and contract documents.
  • Support construction projects and oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/biological engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of direct design experience with municipal water plants.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
