About the position

The Process Engineer at Optimus Steel LLC is responsible for overseeing engineering tasks related to the smelting of steel for reuse. This role involves developing and refining operating procedures, analyzing capital expenditures, and improving company operations through innovative practices and technologies. The engineer will also prepare project proposals, technical reports, and coordinate operational data to ensure the efficient functioning of the department.

Responsibilities

  • In charge of engineering responsibilities in the smelting of steel for reuse.
  • Develop and refine operating procedures.
  • Review monitoring systems and determine ways to improve company operations.
  • Create analytical processes and analyze capital expenditures and project designs to cut costs.
  • Provide specialist technical input into team project work and evaluate recovery estimates.
  • Develop and implement industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of long- and short-term processing plans.
  • Prepare and review project proposals, studies, and technical reports.
  • Ensure cost-effective, safe, and timely completion of projects.
  • Coordinate operational information and data for the operating department.
  • Prepare and complete blueprints for additions, installations, maintenance, and repair purposes.
  • Prepare drawings and sketches for modifications of machinery and equipment.
  • Prepare data sheets, diagrams, and flow charts for efficient operation of equipment.
  • Provide input into preparing programs for computer control systems.

Requirements

  • Experience in CAD/CAM/Mechanical Design.
  • Knowledge of product development and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, RCM, TPM.
  • Ability to interface with customers and manage projects effectively.
  • Proficiency in SPC, PLC, CAPEX, and cost control.
  • Experience in failure analysis techniques such as 5Ys and Fishbone.
