About the position

Our client is currently seeking a Process Engineer for a 1st shift opening with a manufacturing company. The Process Engineer will play a crucial role in collaborating with plant production and quality assurance teams to optimize processes, maximize machine performance, prioritize safety, and ensure consistent product quality. This position requires a champion for the development and implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems, which are essential for maintaining high standards in manufacturing processes. In this role, the Process Engineer will evaluate and introduce new materials in collaboration with Engineering & Technical Services (E&TS). They will also be responsible for developing and continually updating preventative maintenance plans for molds and injection molding machines, working closely with E&TS and machine suppliers. The Process Engineer will drive continuous improvement in existing operations by identifying opportunities for product and process optimization, making them a go-to resource for mold and equipment troubleshooting and repairs. Additionally, the Process Engineer will provide ongoing technical support to plant operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, maximizing productivity and quality, and meeting delivery targets. They will assist in evaluating components and testing new products, including new mold and equipment installations. Coordination of all Pro-T-Con activities will be part of their responsibilities, aimed at developing and implementing improvements in processes, products, and equipment across the plant. The Process Engineer will also be tasked with developing clear and concise standard operating procedures (SOPs) for molding machines and related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with plant production and quality assurance teams to optimize processes, maximize machine performance, prioritize safety, and ensure consistent product quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent) and/or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of injection molding processes, equipment, materials, and mold tooling.
  • Proven project management expertise with a focus on process improvement and innovation principles.
  • Ability to react promptly to situations, demonstrating flexibility in working with people and operational assets.
  • A keen eye for potential problems and the ability to act proactively on those intuitions.
