About the position

As a Process Engineer at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), you will play a crucial role in managing capital projects throughout the Mill. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for providing technical assistance in daily operational activities across the Mill, which includes designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving various processes, equipment, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers while adhering to environmental responsibilities. In this role, you will utilize ACAD engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and codes. You will also direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with operational requirements. Supervising project team members will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, you will prepare technical drawings and specifications of systems, ensuring that installations and operations conform to both standards and customer requirements. This position is vital for maintaining the operational excellence that PCA is known for in the packaging industry.

Responsibilities

  • Project management of capital projects throughout the Mill.
  • Provide technical assistance in daily operational activities Mill-wide.
  • Design, implement, maintain and improve Mill processes, equipment, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes.
  • Operate ACAD engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with Specifications, codes, and operating requirements.
  • Supervise project team members as necessary.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications of systems, and location drawings to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Paper Science or Chemical Engineering.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in related field or previous co-op/internships.
